I don’t know how I’ve been feeling lately, but I have gotten some negative feedback from some users. I have no problem with it, its just how some come about it. Anyways I have been having this on my mind and wanted to point it out.
A developer takes a great risk by developing an extension for tabs. Why you ask? We’ll because tabs are broad and users want more control of it. This is what I and onemen tried to do. However as we add more functionality that people requested, we get more that complain about it. Because of this, we turn stuff off and add options for it. Guess what? This isn’t good enough, as it is seen as bloat. Bloat is a very hurtful word to developer, well at least me.
I try to please as many people as I can. This is getting to a conflict. We have users that like simplicity and are very afraid of option. Most of these are the same that don’t take time to look over the whole extension or the documentation provided. Who else offers great(at least I think so) support and documentation. Anyways, they request features that have always been there. For example, at first people didn’t recognize that the close button was provided. I had it off by default but I now turned it on so that they could see that it is available. I don’t think I should do this should I?
The second type of people are the ones that like more customization. I try to please these as well because sometimes I might want the same feature. However, as time goes by, the features they want are getting overdone. Implementing them would increase the size and also cause some problems. Some of their problems are with a minor annoyance such as shortcut keys. I honestly don’t think I should implement ability to change because of another extension. Why can’t the other extension do it or why cant the user take the initiative to do it themselves?
As you can see I try to please 2 kinds of people. Can you see how they may conflict with each others from time to time. I am not sure what the future for the extension is but I just don’t understand the overall opinion of the extension. I guess that is a problem faced by everyone.
For everyone that doesn’t belong in any of the groups, I thank you. There are many that stay with the decisions I make. The extension wouldn’t be it without you.
Every user has different surfing habits and extensions should try to adapt to it. I just don’t see the position my extension.

I think it’s brilliant. If you develop TMP to please yourself, then there really shouldn’t be any reason to worry about the opinions of others. If it works just right for you then it’s perfect just the way it is.
I, for one, surf more effectively because of your efforts, and so I greatly appreciate your efforts — for whatever that’s worth. And thanks!

I agree with Mot. People have no right to complain if they dont like TMP because its free and they installed it themselves, it doesn’t come with Firefox.
I love TMP and couldn’t see myself surfing without it. My favorite features are the session manager and undo close tab with closed tabs list.
Thanks Gary, for this pwnz0r extension!

I’m very proud of you and your work. I’m always here. Don’t give up.
There will always be jealous people and those who criticize because of it.
Don’t be brought down by them, you’re better than that- and your work (with amazing help from onemen) is undeniably brilliant with great effort!
Keep up what you’re doing and just have fun with it, like you’ve always had- that’s all that matters.
Love you, love the extension, and o’course Firefox.
